1.0 User authentication, authorization and administration

1.2 Register Independent Operator employee for use of the Vehicle Manufacturer RMI system

After you have registered your company, you can create a user for this operation in the registry.

1.3 Maintain Independent Operator status

Operating data can be updated at any time after successful registration. Please note that this may entail inspection processes that can take several working days.

1.4 Maintain user status

After successful registration, a user can request administrator rights by successfully completing the ident process. Administrator users can create and administer additional users for operation. They can also define additional administrator users.

1.5 Request to delete the registration of an Independent Operator employee

An administrator user can delete users, himself or his operation. Note: If you delete your last existing administrator user and your operation, you will not be able to access the benefits of the Service-Information Mercedes-Benz Trucks Portal.

1.7 Grant access to security-related RMI

2.0 Payment for RMI

RMI (Repair and Maintenance Information) products are currently available in the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and others via the Service-Information Mercedes-Benz Trucks Portal. When you register via UMAS, you will be able to purchase usage rights for RMI products Workshop Information, Operation Time, TIPS and Parts Information as well as Periodical Technical Inspection. Access to Daimler Truck Diagnostics PassThru and the Daimler Truck Short Test requires additional authentification and registration via external websites.
The payment of the RMI products in the Service-Information Mercedes-Benz Trucks Portal is made either by credit card (Mastercard/Visa) or via online payment (e.g. PayPal). The prices can be found in the price table of the respective products.

3.0 Vehicle identification

3.1 Vehicle identification through use of the VIN

Our RMI products enable you to display workshop information in a vehicle-specific manner by entering the VIN in the respective applications.

3.2 Vehicle type identification via product features

Due to technical restrictions, we can only provide you with vehicle-specific documentation by entering a vehicle identification number (VIN) in the respective applications. In addition, it is possible to define vehicle construction samples via product characteristics in the respective applications (e.g. by selecting the series and further selection). However, this is not recommended as this does not guarantee a vehicle-specific selection of RMI.

4.0 Provide selection methods for RMI

4.1 Select information type

Our RMI products enable you to display workshop information in a vehicle-specific manner by entering the VIN in the respective applications.

4.2 Search by standardized terms

In the respective applications you can search for standardized terms. However, this depends on the functionalities of the application.

4.3 Navigate using product structure

In the respective applications you can access Repair and Maintenance Information by navigating through the standardized vehicle product structure (vehicle, system, subsystem, component).

4.4 Select by document identifier

Depending on the type of information, you can identify specific documents in the applications with the help of a unique document ID and get directly to the document. For example, a unique Workshop Information document ID allows you to quickly and conveniently jump to the document in Workshop Information.
